☝️ How we rated the services below:
When it comes to finding the best baos in London, we take our search seriously. Every aspect counts, from taste to atmosphere and service. Here are the criteria we use when reviewing:

  • Variety of options: We look for a restaurant that offers a variety of bao fillings and flavours, from classic pork belly to vegetarian-friendly options.
  • Quality of ingredients: The quality of ingredients used in the baos can make or break their taste. We pay attention to whether they are fresh, flavorful and well-prepared.
  • Consistency: A great bao is not just a one-time fluke. It should be tasty every time you visit. That’s why we check if both the filling and bun texture stay consistent over multiple visits.
  • Presentation: A beauty treat for your palate as well as your eyes! How does each dish look? Are they served hot in perfectly steamed baskets or on beautifully plated dishes?
  • Service: Is there an attentive staff providing friendly customer service that made us feel welcome?

London's Bao Scene Sizzles with These Mouth-Watering Must-Try Buns!

☝️ Assembling a motley crew of foodies, our team traversed the city to test the fluffiness of bao buns, savour the tenderness of meat fillings, and gleefully evaluate a range of sauces. We dragged along family members who were initially hesitant but ended up stuffing their faces with these heavenly creations; and convinced friends -who once scoffed at the idea- that baos could beat burgers any day! Suffice it to say that after this experience, we are all suffering from a serious case of Bao FOMO (fear of missing out) on weekdays.

Daddy Bao

⭐ Our Genuine Review of Daddy Bao:

Daddy Bao, oh Daddy-o! Let me tell you about my recent experience at this little gem on Mitcham Road. The vibes were 100% welcoming right from the get-go and the staff showed us some mad love as soon as we walked in. The food………..well, let's just say there wasn't a crumb left on our plates by the end of it all.

I mean seriously people, if bao buns are your thing (which they SHOULD be), then Daddy Bao is where you need to head for an unforgettable experience. Trust me when I say that these babies were stuffed to capacity with flavor and goodness! We tried out three different types: pork belly, beef brisket and battered cod….and boom shakalaka – every single one was top notch!

The highlight of our visit? Everything really, but those spicy orange wings off the specials board were life-changing!! Also loved sampling a variety of their sauces which made each bite even more exciting than the last. So yes folks, book that table now because Daddy Bao is worth every penny spent and every minute waiting in line (although hopefully not too long). No regrets here – do yourself a favor and go try them out already!

⭐ Our Genuine Review of BAO Noodle Shop:

BAO Noodle Shop has left an unforgettable experience on my taste buds and is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants I've visited in London! Nestled within a buzzing street, the aromas from this spot alone will attract you towards its humble door. Bao Yum

⭐ Our Unvarnished Impressions of Bao Yum:

Bao Yum – the name itself is enough to get your taste buds excited and craving for some delicious Baos. From the moment you enter this little corner of heaven tucked away in John Islip Street, London, you can't help but feel pleasantly surprised by its unique decor and ambiance. This place has quickly become my go-to when I'm looking for a quick snack or even a full meal with friends!

Every time I visit Bao Yum, I am greeted with warm smiles from the friendly staff who make sure that everything we order is served fresh and hot. The selection of Baos offered here is quite impressive! Everything from Japanese Pork Belly to Chicken Honey Ginger Teriyaki and even Kung Pao Shrimp is available! One thing that sets them apart from other similar places in London, however, is that there's just the right amount of filling in each bun so you get an equal balance.

But what really takes me back here every time is their Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Open Bao with iced coffee – it's like fireworks going off in your mouth as they have perfectly blended flavours which will leave you wanting more. Even though sometimes customers might have to wait a bit longer if things are made on-demand like their fried chicken bao; they do tell proactively about expected waiting times at counter.

Overall Bao Yum offers quality food at affordable prices with good service – it totally deserves being one of my favourites spots in town!

πŸ‘ Our Reasons for Recommending:

BAO Kings Cross

⭐ Our Genuine Review of BAO Kings Cross:

BAO Kings Cross will definitely have you coming back for their classic and delicious Taiwanese burger! Walking in, the ambiance is cozy and welcoming; the perfect vibe to enjoy a meal with close friends. To top it all off, its staff are all friendly and knowledgeable about their menu – making sure that we got everything we needed.

As for the food, every bite was delightful! I especially loved how they play around with spices, such as highlighting some of their dishes as spicy but balancing it out tastefully against other flavors. And although their portions seem small at first sight, the price is well worth it considering the quality of each dish.

Another great thing about BAO Kings Cross is that they offer a rewards app where you get discounts on your next meal – downloaded instantly too! Truly an innovative touch to treat customers while also drawing them back in for delicious food!

All in all, this restaurant serves exquisite cuisine- incorporating both eastern and western flavours respectively throughout various dishes. Coupled with its homey atmosphere and warm service from staff members who know what's good where there's amazing dining experience. The perfect spot not just for casual meetings over lunch or dinner but even special events given their private dining room upstairs!

BAO Mary

⭐ Our Honest Opinion of BAO Mary:

BAO Mary – a new outlet of my favourite BAO restaurant in London that I was so eager to visit! As soon as I walked into the cosy and inviting interior, it felt like stepping into an oasis from the busy streets outside. The amazing service by Ming made me feel welcomed and appreciated right from the start. Although there were limited options for larger parties, their bar table was perfect for solo diners like myself.

I indulged in some soy-boiled eggs and classic BAO, which were simply divine! But what surprised me most were their unique dishes such as Cull yaw dumplings with sour plum tea which tasted remarkable. However, the star dish for me had to be friend bao with smoked aubergine – a pleasant surprise that had my taste buds wanting more.

The impeccable service and delicious food are something everyone should experience at this new BAO branch. Their consistency in quality across different locations is commendable while offering great deals through their app on various branches only adds to a fantastic overall dining experience. If you're looking for tasty Taiwanese cuisine served in an intimate setting by friendly staff, reserve your spot ahead of time and pay them a visit- worth every penny!

Master Bao

⭐ Our Unvarnished Impressions of Master Bao:

From the moment I stepped into Master Bao, I knew that I was in for a dining experience like no other. The restaurant's delectable Taiwanese-inspired dishes are simply irresistible! Choosing was difficult, but finally settling on the chicken bao and prawn bao coupled with delicious sides of edamame and fried chicken made for an unforgettable meal.

The cozy food court had shared seating which got quite busy at peak times but provided ample opportunity to chat with fellow diners while waiting for our meals to arrive. Once the food arrived, it didn't take long for me to realize what all the fuss was about – everything tasted amazing! The quality of ingredients used in creating each dish is undeniable; from their perfectly cooked fried chicken drizzled mouthwateringly in sauce to their fluffy steamed baos overflowing with flavour.

Lastly, Master ‘Bao' himself deserves special recognition as his customer service skills are out of this world. He always went above and beyond to ensure that every diner felt welcomed and satisfied until they left. Overall, my experience at Master Bao surpassed my expectations by far and has set an exceptionally high standard when it comes to Taiwanese cuisine in London. Flesh & Buns Oxford Circus

⭐ An Unfiltered Assessment of Flesh & Buns Oxford Circus:

Flesh & Buns Oxford Circus – what a brilliant place! From the moment I walked in, I was immediately captivated by the contemporary decor and chic ambiance. The staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming, to say the least. We started off with chips and dips which were tasty but could have done with more flavouring. However, every other dish that graced our table was simply divine!

I can still taste those beautifully crispy-sweet Korean wings that are signature at this establishment – heaven on Earth! Every bun we tried was expertly crafted and full of flavour; my personal favourite being the brisket topped off with savoury sauce.

The drinks menu showcased an impressive selection of sake options fitting for any mood or occasion- truly incredible. Although service could be improved somewhat, it did not hamper our experience at all.

Overall Flesh & Buns Oxford Circus gets top marks from me; a unique culinary adventure whether you're dining alone or having fun out with your friends or family!
