We can't resist the charm and warmth of a good Irish pub when we're looking for a lively atmosphere, great music, and a selection of quality drinks. So, here are our criteria for reviewing the best Irish pubs in London:

  • Experience and Tradition: It's important to us that the pub has an authentic feel, with staff who embody Irish hospitality. We appreciate pubs that have been around for a while because they tend to have a richer history and deeper connection to their roots.
  • Ambiance: The ambiance should reflect the spirit of Ireland: cozy yet vibrant, with traditional decor such as dark wood furnishings or Gaelic-themed artwork. A welcoming atmosphere where patrons feel comfortable striking up conversations with strangers is always a bonus!
  • Live Music and Entertainment: We look out for pubs that host live music sessions featuring traditional Irish folk tunes or Celtic bands. This adds an extra layer of enjoyment to our evenings out! Some pubs may also offer other forms of entertainment like storytelling nights or quizzes – things that keep us engaged throughout our visit.
  • Food and Drink Selection: Quality food is paramount; hearty dishes inspired by traditional Irish cuisine should be on offer along with diverse vegetarian/vegan options. Philomena's Irish Sports Bar & Kitchen

⭐ Our Genuine Review of Philomena's Irish Sports Bar & Kitchen:

Philomena's Irish Sports Bar & Kitchen is an absolute gem in the heart of London! From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by friendly Irish staff with a genuine warmth and bubbly attitude that instantly makes you feel at home. The atmosphere is inviting and there's a real sense of camaraderie among both staff and customers.

I couldn't help but be impressed by the delicious food served at Philomena's. Whether it was traditional Irish dishes or classic pub grub, every bite was mouthwatering and packed with flavor. And let me not forget to mention the drinks – they were absolutely delightful!

The bar itself has a cool, traditional ambiance with its dark interiors. However, I must admit that some areas could do with a bit more attention to detail. The screens on the side of the main TV could be larger and there were quite a few cobwebs that needed clearing away. Nonetheless, these minor issues didn't detract from my overall positive experience.

What really sets Philomena's apart is their remarkable service. The staff constantly go above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction – from promptly serving your drinks to even delivering them directly to your table without being asked. Such attentiveness truly reflects excellent management.

Whether you're looking for a place to catch up on sports while enjoying a pint or craving delectable food in an amiable environment, Philomena's Irish Sports Bar & Kitchen should definitely be on your list of places to visit in London. Trust me; this service is worth every penny!

From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with an electric atmosphere that pulses through every corner of this pub. The service is top-notch, always attentive and friendly. And let me tell you about the food – absolutely divine!

I recently indulged in their succulent lamb dish while my partner devoured their mouthwatering 100% beef burger – both were out-of-this-world delicious! But what really stole the show was their strawberry beer. A unique twist on a classic drink that left us wanting more.

This place is massive, with multiple levels ensuring there's plenty of seating available for everyone to enjoy themselves. We started off having drinks and sampling from their intriguing menu which offers something for every palate.

But the real surprise came when we stumbled upon a live band playing downstairs as we were preparing to leave. It was like walking into a hidden treasure trove of entertainment! We stayed longer than planned because being serenaded by talented musicians felt too good to pass up.

In conclusion, whether you're looking for a lively night out or just want to relax with friends and family over some quality drinks and food, The Porterhouse is definitely worth a visit. They offer an extensive range of beers (a dream come true for any beer lover) and the bar staff are delightful company throughout your visit. While some may find the pricing slightly steep compared to other pubs, trust me when I say that the experience they provide is well worth every penny spent.

Quinns, oh how I adore this place! As soon as you step through the doors of this charming Irish pub on Kentish Town Road, you can immediately sense the warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff are absolutely wonderful – friendly, attentive, and always happy to chat. And let's not forget about the other customers; they too seem to emanate a sense of friendliness that is infectious.

Now, Quinns may no longer serve meals, but fear not my fellow food enthusiasts! The pub snacks such as crisps and nuts are delectable enough to satisfy any craving. Plus, the prices on drinks are some of the cheapest in Camden – or even among the top three cheapest in all of London!

I must confess that I didn't have an opportunity to sample their food personally, but a trusted friend gave it a thumbs up. With decent prices and amazing staff who create a welcoming environment for all visitors, why wouldn't I want to return?

In my book, Quinns is not only one of the best pubs in Camden but possibly one of the finest establishments in all of London. Its art-deco design adds a touch of elegance while maintaining its ‘mom and pop' charm. So whether you're looking for an evening drink or just somewhere to unwind with friends over good conversation and great music, make sure Quinns is on your list – you won't be disappointed!

A great chill place for a drink and a chat! Staff's great and friendly, other customers seem quite friendly, too. It IS an irish pub with exception that they do no longer do meals. Pub snacks like crisps and nuts are best you'll get. Adore the place,…

And prices on drinks are cheapest or top 3 cheapest in camden….

Waxy's Little Sister

⭐ Our Honest Opinion of Waxy's Little Sister:

Waxy's Little Sister is an absolute gem in the heart of London! Nestled on Wardour Street, this lovely Irish pub offers an authentic and charming experience that is sure to delight all who step through its doors. From the moment you enter, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with open fires crackling away and friendly staff ready to serve you.

What sets Waxy's Little Sister apart from other pubs in London is its unique feature – the beer lift. Although it was unfortunate that it wasn't working when I visited, I couldn't help but be intrigued by the concept. It left me eager to come back again and give it another go. But even without experiencing the beer lift, my time at Waxy's Little Sister was still incredibly enjoyable.

With mellow music softly playing in the background, conversation flowed effortlessly as we sipped our pints of Guinness. The view of China Town added an extra touch of charm to the whole experience. And next time I visit, I plan on trying out their food offerings which I've heard nothing but great things about.

As one of my favourite pubs in London, Waxy's Little Sister may be small in space but big on character and hospitality. The ingenious pulley system for ordering drinks from upstairs adds a touch of whimsy that is hard to resist. The staff are always warm and welcoming, providing exceptional service throughout my visit.

If you're looking for a pub experience off the beaten track near Leicester Square or simply want to soak up some Irish charm while enjoying quality beverages and good company, then do not miss out on Waxy's Little Sister! It truly is worth visiting for a memorable night out in London city.

The Toucan

The Toucan truly lives up to its reputation as a shrine to all things Guinness. From the moment I stepped through the doors of this small and cozy pub, I knew I was in for a treat. The walls adorned with Guinness memorabilia created an immersive atmosphere that transported me back to old-school Soho.

As a huge fan of Guinness, ordering a pint was an absolute must. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The creamy goodness rolled over my taste buds with each sip, satisfying my craving for that perfect pint of black stuff. Despite the place being packed on St Patrick's day, the bartenders managed to keep up with demand and deliver top-notch pints.
