Bush Hall

⭐ Our Genuine Review of Bush Hall:

Bush Hall, what a gem of a venue! Nestled on Uxbridge Road, this small but mighty space is a hidden musical delight. From the moment you step through its doors, you can feel the vibrant energy coursing through the air. With its cosy downstairs bar and coffee shop, complete with racks of vintage vinyl at ground level, Bush Hall effortlessly combines charm and character.

I recently had the pleasure of watching The Blockheads perform here and they absolutely rocked it! But it wasn't just their talent that impressed me; it was the entire atmosphere that made the evening unforgettable. Relaxed, friendly, and with plenty of room to move around – I felt right at home in this intimate setting.

This might have been my first visit to Bush Hall, but it certainly won't be my last. They hosted an incredible show featuring the Rant Band with Alejandro Escovedo paying tribute to Mott the Hoople and Ian Hunter. It was a night filled with nostalgia and fantastic fun!

What struck me most about Bush Hall was their exceptional customer service. Accompanying someone with mobility issues can often be challenging when attending live events. However, Bush Hall's staff went above and beyond to accommodate us seamlessly. Their dedication to making everyone feel welcome is commendable; other venues could certainly learn from them!

In conclusion, if you're looking for live music in London that offers not only great performances but also a sense of community spirit within an independent establishment – look no further than Bush Hall! Trust me when I say this venue is worth celebrating and protecting; its unique vibe sets it apart from all others. Take my word for it – head over to 310 Uxbridge Road as soon as possible! You won't regret it!

229 London

⭐ A Personal Take on 229 London:

229 London is a place that truly knows how to rock! From the moment you step through the doors, you can feel the excitement buzzing in the air. The atmosphere is electric, with great bands and top-notch entertainment guaranteed. Whether you're into stand-up comedy or live concerts, this venue has something for everyone.

One thing that did let me down slightly was the drinks' prices. I mean, £7.20 for a bottle of Doom? That's just daylight robbery! Personally, I believe they could take a leaf out of other venues' books and offer more reasonable prices. Nevertheless, don't let that put you off from having an amazing time here.

The layout of 229 London is impressive; it boasts two separate rooms/stages, each with its own bar. The larger hall where I caught my favourite band playing had a stage raised about five to six feet high – giving everyone a fantastic view of all the action. The smaller room was cozy and intimate with lower stage height but still provided an exceptional experience.

Overall, 229 London is an incredible live music venue right in the heart of London's bustling city center. With its modern decor and welcoming vibe, it's worth checking out for any music lover or anyone looking for some great entertainment options. Just be prepared to fork out a bit extra on beverages – after all: good vibes may be priceless but overpriced drinks are not!

So grab your friends and head down to 229 London; trust me when I say you won't be disappointed!

The Grace

⭐ Our Unvarnished Impressions of The Grace:

The Grace, what can I say? This hidden gem tucked away on Highbury Cor has quickly become one of my favorite spots in all of London. From the moment you enter, you are greeted with a warm and friendly bar staff that instantly makes you feel right at home. On my recent visit, we had arrived early only to find out that the opening time had been changed. But rather than turning us away, the gentleman behind the bar was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to make our wait enjoyable.

As we made our way through this cute little venue, I couldn't help but appreciate its clever use of space. With bars both upstairs and downstairs, there is never a shortage of drinks or places to sit. The staff's kindness continued throughout the evening; their genuine warmth radiated in every interaction. However, it must be noted that while everything else about The Grace exceeded expectations, the prices for drinks were quite high – £11 for a double seemed a bit steep.

Despite this minor setback though, The Grace remains an absolutely delightful place to spend an evening catching up with friends or enjoying drinks before heading out on the town. Its charm lies not only in its cozy atmosphere but also in its exceptional service provided by true angels like gentlemen behind that bar who truly made my night unforgettable.

You can either keep your belongings like jacket, etc by paying 2£ or you can carry it inside with you which I found is fine. We booked around 40-50 seats for our corporate Christmas social event. The staff were very friendly and nice. We pre-ordered …

Best spot to celebrate a birthday. Lovely atmosphere, good food and when they say bottomless drinks, they mean it! Good selection of cocktails to choose from too. Our waiter Shaun was phenomenal, friendly, kind and attentive….

The Waiting Room

⭐ Our Unvarnished Impressions of The Waiting Room:

The Waiting Room, located at 175 Stoke Newington High St in London, is truly a hidden gem. I recently had the pleasure of attending a gig there, where Rhumba Club performed and let me tell you, it was an incredible experience. The atmosphere in this intimate venue is unparalleled – it felt like we were all part of something special. And with the great pricing for London standards, it's a no-brainer that I would definitely go again.

What impressed me most about The Waiting Room was not only the fantastic acoustics but also the friendly atmosphere. It really made for an enjoyable night out. Plus, getting there couldn't be easier as it’s conveniently located on Stoke Newington High Street.

One thing that sets The Waiting Room apart from other venues is the fact that there's a pub upstairs! This means you have access to even more choice when it comes to drinks and food options before or after the show. Quick service at the bar ensured no time wasted waiting around.

Overall, my experience at The Waiting Room exceeded all expectations. From being warmly welcomed by staff to being looked after throughout by their attentive team members while enjoying an amazing performance by Sam Fischer – every moment was pure bliss! Just note that this may not be suitable for unwalking disabled individuals due to its layout.

MOTH Club

⭐ Our Genuine Review of MOTH Club:

MOTH Club, what a hidden gem! I stumbled upon this cozy little venue tucked away in Hackney, London and boy was I in for a treat. From the moment I stepped inside, I could feel the infectious energy in the air. The crowd was buzzing with excitement, ready to experience some crazy good gigs. And let me tell you, MOTH Club did not disappoint.

The lineup of artists was mice (yes, that's right mice!) and they delivered stunning performances that had everyone dancing their hearts out. The sound quality was top-notch – crystal clear and perfectly balanced. But what really stole my heart were the people. Cool vibes radiated through every corner of this place as music lovers came together to create an unforgettable atmosphere.

I do have one tiny gripe though…the lack of considerate party-goers at times. During one Brass Rave party, some individuals stood still in the middle of the crowd instead of letting loose on the dancefloor – quite frustrating! If only there were bouncers who would encourage them to groove or kindly ask them to move aside. Hey Moth Club management, take note! That's how we can shape the future of partying!

Apart from that minor setback, everything about MOTH Club is spectacular. The layout is unique with separate entrance and main hall areas adding character to your visit. As you wander around you'll notice intriguing décor adorned with military insignia and retro TV sets – a true feast for your eyes.

And don't forget about their instant photo booth! For just £5 per sheet of 4 pictures, it's an absolute steal. Don't skip out on capturing those special moments while basking in all things musical goodness.

I've already booked tickets for another show here because once just wasn't enough. If you're looking for a great night out filled with soul-stirring live music or side-splitting comedy shows like John-Luke Roberts, then MOTH Club is THE place to be. Sure, the bar area can get a bit crowded before events, but let me assure you, it's all worth it. Trust me when I say this charming venue will leave you wanting more. Londoners and visitors alike, make this your next destination for an unforgettable night of entertainment!

👍 Our Reasons for Recommending:

  • Great place for crazy good gigs
  • Intimate venue with cool vibes
  • Unique décor and instant photo booth availability

Great place for the crazy good gigs in Hackney, London….

I loved the closeness vibes and the crowd. Except when people come to the brass rave party and stand still in the middle of the crowd… if only there would be a bouncer who would make them dance or F… off to the back. That's the future of partying…

It was second to none – crystal clear and immersive.

The Jago

⭐ Our Genuine Review of The Jago:

The Jago, what a hidden gem in the heart of London! From the moment you step foot inside, you are greeted with an atmosphere that is nothing short of magical. The friendly bar staff, the soft lighting, and the quirky decorations all contribute to creating a warm and inviting space. And let's not forget about those moveable chairs; it's clear that the staff here truly cares about making everyone feel comfortable.

Now, I must admit that the stage area is on the smaller side, which can be overwhelming at times. But fear not! The intimate setting only adds to the excitement and energy of live performances. Sure, there may be room for improvement when it comes to the sound quality, but let's remember that this is a small venue we're talking about. Considering its size, they do a pretty impressive job.

On my visit to The Jago, I was lucky enough to witness talks by passionate individuals fighting to save live venues from shutting down or losing their essence. This just goes to show how much this place means not only to its patrons but also to those who believe in preserving artistic spaces.

From concerts featuring Inverted Worlds (who were absolutely amazing) to captivating UV drawing sessions – there is always something unique happening at The Jago. It doesn't matter if you're into music or art; this place has got something adventurous for everyone!

So why wait? Grab your friends and make your way down Kingsland Road because The Jago is where memories are made and creativity comes alive!
