☝️ How we rated the services below:
London’s microbrewery scene has been booming in recent years, offering a diverse range of craft beers for all types of beer lovers. As discerning reviewers, we have come up with several key criteria to help you find the best microbreweries in London.
- Atmosphere: We believe that the right atmosphere is key to enjoying a great craft brew. When reviewing a microbrewery, we take into consideration how comfortable and inviting the space is. Is it spacious and airy? Does it have ample seating or standing room? Are there enough tables for groups or individuals?
- Beer selection: Of course, we couldn’t forget one of the most important factors when selecting a microbrewery – their beer selection! We look for establishments that offer an extensive variety of options ranging from hoppy IPAs to rich stouts and everything in between.
Quality: Taste matters! During our reviews, we evaluate whether each brewery delivers consistent quality across its beer menu items. - Service: Alongside great drinks comes exceptional service. Friendly bartenders who can provide recommendations on what beers pair well with food make patrons feel welcomed and excited about trying something new.
- Food offerings: Many breweries now offer delicious pub-style nibbles or full meals which are designed to complement their brewing efforts perfectly.
- Brand ethos/story behind products etc.: It’s always interesting (and often inspiring) when operating owners tell us about their brand ethos and the history behind why they got started. This added “flavour” adds insight into where your drink came from.

Southwark Brewing Company
⭐ A Personal Take on Southwark Brewing Company:
Southwark Brewing Company is a hidden gem that you simply can’t miss in London. Tucked away under the arches, it’s an awesome brewery that makes amazing craft beer! If you are thinking of having a beer crawl stop with your buddies, then this place will not disappoint. I promise; it’s a sure way to have some great fun!
The Mayflower IPA was my favourite beer on tap and trust me when I say, their prices did not break the bank either. For less than £10, you could order two pints which is pretty reasonable for such good quality ale especially in London where everything seems expensive these days!
If you plan to sit inside or come as part of a big group then booking ahead would be ideal since seating may be limited. Otherwise standing space is available particularly on weekend afternoons when Southwark gets quite busy.
In conclusion, visiting Southwark Brewing Company during your next trip to Bermondsey Beer Mile cannot be overemphasized enough! The service at this small yet delightful brewery will leave lasting memories and add extra zing to your entire tour experience!
👍 Our Reasons for Recommending:
- Good selection of craft beer
- Reasonable prices for the quality
- Great first stop on the Bermondsey Beer Mile

Meantime Brewing Company
⭐ Our Honest Opinion of Meantime Brewing Company:
Meantime Brewing Company is a hidden gem that I stumbled upon during my trip to Greenwich. Walking down Blackwall Lane, the brewery might not look like much, but upon entering, one can find an impressive selection of craft beers and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for enjoying them. I particularly enjoyed their red ale called Yakima – smooth with a hint of bitterness – paired perfectly with bar snacks like Pipers crisps or hot wings.
Aside from the great beer selection and tasty food, Meantime also offers guided tours of their brewery for those interested in learning about the history and process behind brewing beer. Our tour guide Danny was knowledgeable and made the experience light-hearted with his humor.
The highlight of my visit was definitely the Q&A session held in their upstairs bar where we got to interact more intimately with our guides over glasses of their signature brews. Whether you’re a seasoned craft-beer-head or someone simply curious about different types of alcohol options available out there, Meantime has something for everyone. With friendly staff who are committed to satisfying your tastebuds while providing you insightful information into brewing beer on each visit- it’s no wonder why this spot scores highly online!
