☝️ How we rated the services below:
London's microbrewery scene has been booming in recent years, offering a diverse range of craft beers for all types of beer lovers. As discerning reviewers, we have come up with several key criteria to help you find the best microbreweries in London.

  • Atmosphere: We believe that the right atmosphere is key to enjoying a great craft brew. When reviewing a microbrewery, we take into consideration how comfortable and inviting the space is. Is it spacious and airy? Does it have ample seating or standing room? Are there enough tables for groups or individuals?
  • Beer selection: Of course, we couldn't forget one of the most important factors when selecting a microbrewery – their beer selection! We look for establishments that offer an extensive variety of options ranging from hoppy IPAs to rich stouts and everything in between.
Quality: Taste matters! During our reviews, we evaluate whether each brewery delivers consistent quality across its beer menu items.
  • Service: Alongside great drinks comes exceptional service. Friendly bartenders who can provide recommendations on what beers pair well with food make patrons feel welcomed and excited about trying something new.
  • Food offerings: Many breweries now offer delicious pub-style nibbles or full meals which are designed to complement their brewing efforts perfectly.
  • Brand ethos/story behind products etc.: It's always interesting (and often inspiring) when operating owners tell us about their brand ethos and the history behind why they got started. This added β€œflavour” adds insight into where your drink came from.

Best Acai Bowl Cafes in London

Southwark Brewing Company is a hidden gem that you simply can't miss in London. Tucked away under the arches, it's an awesome brewery that makes amazing craft beer! If you are thinking of having a beer crawl stop with your buddies, then this place will not disappoint. I promise; it's a sure way to have some great fun!

The Mayflower IPA was my favourite beer on tap and trust me when I say, their prices did not break the bank either. For less than Β£10, you could order two pints which is pretty reasonable for such good quality ale especially in London where everything seems expensive these days!

If you plan to sit inside or come as part of a big group then booking ahead would be ideal since seating may be limited. Otherwise standing space is available particularly on weekend afternoons when Southwark gets quite busy.

In conclusion, visiting Southwark Brewing Company during your next trip to Bermondsey Beer Mile cannot be overemphasized enough! The service at this small yet delightful brewery will leave lasting memories and add extra zing to your entire tour experience!

πŸ‘ Our Reasons for Recommending:

  • Good selection of craft beer

I love how there are various options regarding the size of your drink too, so whether it's a quick taster or a full pint, the team has got you covered.

Arrived a few minutes after opening time on Saturday and there were already a couple of groups in. The 2 chaps behind the bar were friendly and helped us pick a couple of beers….

The wife had a cherry sour which even though this place was the first of 8 stops we made that day along the mile, she said was the best beer of the day for her….

Hackney Church Brew Co.

⭐ Our Honest Opinion of Hackney Church Brew Co.:

When you stumble upon Hackney Church Brew Co., tucked away down an alley just minutes from Hackney Central station, it'll feel like you've discovered a secret gem. And boy, is this place worth uncovering! The taproom sits snugly under railway arches and trains rumble by above – it's enough to make your pint of beer taste even better.

The vibe at the back garden was serene on a Sunday afternoon when I visited, but don't be fooled into thinking that means boring! The cider selection packed quite the fruity punch and wasn't expensive either. Even if you're not much of a drinker, their bathroom design alone deserves recognition – stylish yet still kept things dark with its lighting scheme.

What sets Hackney Church Brew Co. apart is its admirable community-based ethos complemented by amazing atmosphere.Their staff are friendly too and they serve up one helluva tasty Sunday roast which would easily give any local pub a run for their money so why not treat yourself? You deserve it after all!

Meantime Brewing Company

⭐ Our Honest Opinion of Meantime Brewing Company:

Meantime Brewing Company is a hidden gem that I stumbled upon during my trip to Greenwich. Walking down Blackwall Lane, the brewery might not look like much, but upon entering, one can find an impressive selection of craft beers and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for enjoying them. I particularly enjoyed their red ale called Yakima – smooth with a hint of bitterness – paired perfectly with bar snacks like Pipers crisps or hot wings.

Aside from the great beer selection and tasty food, Meantime also offers guided tours of their brewery for those interested in learning about the history and process behind brewing beer. Our tour guide Danny was knowledgeable and made the experience light-hearted with his humor.

The highlight of my visit was definitely the Q&A session held in their upstairs bar where we got to interact more intimately with our guides over glasses of their signature brews. Whether you're a seasoned craft-beer-head or someone simply curious about different types of alcohol options available out there, Meantime has something for everyone. With friendly staff who are committed to satisfying your tastebuds while providing you insightful information into brewing beer on each visit- it's no wonder why this spot scores highly online!

⭐ A Personal Take on Battersea Brewery:

Battersea Brewery truly is a hidden gem that I stumbled upon. This quirky location snuggled in an archway makes for such a unique drinking experience – one which I would wholeheartedly recommend everybody try at least once! The buzzing atmosphere inside only adds to the excitement and liveliness of this enigmatic place. One of my favourite parts has to be feeling the vibrations from trains passing overhead, giving it that urban feel.

The service provided by the staff here was very welcoming and they were always up for some friendly conversation. Even though they were busy on that Saturday night, we still received prompt attention when ordering our drinks from their fantastic selection of beers available including some great cocktails as well. They did mention there’s no salt served with Tequila although it wasn't much of an issue since I was having so much fun enjoying all other beverages.
