☝️ How we rated the services below:
We sought out the best vegetarian roast in London, keeping in mind that taste and quality are of utmost importance. Here are the criteria we used to evaluate each establishment:

  • Flavourful and inventive options: We wanted to find a place that offered more than just your standard nut roast. The dishes should be bursting with flavour, incorporating unique combinations of vegetables, herbs, and spices.
  • Texture and presentation: We believe that a vegetarian roast should have an appealing texture – not too dry or mushy – allowing each component to shine. Presentation is key as well, as we appreciate dishes that are thoughtfully arranged and visually enticing.
  • Variety for different dietary needs: Understanding that everyone has their preferences when it comes to dietary restrictions or choices such as veganism or gluten-free diets, we looked for places offering a range of options suitable for various requirements.
  • Locally sourced ingredients: Supporting local farmers and sustainable practices is essential to us. Thus, we focused on establishments using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
  • Ambience and atmosphere: A pleasant dining experience includes more than just tasty food; it also encompasses the overall ambience. We valued restaurants with comfortable seating arrangements and welcoming staff members who were knowledgeable about the menu options available.
  • Value for money: While quality comes at a price, we aimed to identify venues where customers could enjoy a satisfying vegetarian roast without breaking the bank. Our priority was finding places where affordability did not compromise on taste or portion sizes.

The Hogless Roast at Colour Factory

⭐ Our Unvarnished Impressions of The Hogless Roast at Colour Factory:

The Hogless Roast at Colour Factory is an absolute game changer. From the moment I sunk my teeth into their succulent, flavour-packed Hogless meat, I knew this place was something special. No ordinary vegan fare, this was a burger that had even my non-vegan mum questioning whether it was pork or not! The combination of juicy meat substitute and all the other components of the roll resulted in absolute deliciousness.

But it doesn’t stop there. The mini hash browns were spiced to perfection, with just the right amount of crispiness on the outside and moistness on the inside. And let me not forget about the mac and cheese and slaw – both incredibly tasty accompaniments to an already outstanding meal.

Whether you’re a vegan or not, The Hogless Roast is a must-visit for anyone craving mouthwatering food that leaves you feeling fully satisfied. But what truly sets this place apart is their passion for creating sustainable plant-based cuisine that doesn’t compromise on taste or quality.

I had the pleasure of experiencing their catering services at my wedding, and let me tell you, these guys exceeded all expectations. They provided pulled pork burgers so close to real meat that even hardcore carnivores were fooled. Their salad bar boasted fresh veggies like pickled red cabbage and vegan coleslaw that had guests raving. And don’t get me started on their heavenly Mac ‘n’ cheese!

But it’s not just about the food; Matt and his team are genuine, friendly people who go above and beyond to make your experience unforgettable. Chatting with Matt over some dirty hash browns made me appreciate their commitment to minimizing food waste even more.

If you want unbelievably delicious vegan food that will impress everyone – vegans or otherwise – visit The Hogless Roast at Colour Factory without hesitation! You won’t regret it!

The Spread Eagle

⭐ Our Unvarnished Impressions of The Spread Eagle:

The Spread Eagle, oh how I adore this place! Nestled in the heart of Homerton, this hidden gem is a vegan paradise that will leave you questioning why it’s not sitting comfortably at a solid 4.8 or even 4.9 stars on Google. From the moment I stepped foot through those doors, I knew I was in for something special.

Let’s talk about the food, shall we? Whether you’re a carnivore craving some meaty goodness or a devoted herbivore like myself, The Spread Eagle has got you covered. Their Sunday roast is simply divine – three different options to choose from and each one more tantalizing than the last. My personal favourite is their Beet Wellington – a lentil loaf surrounded by vibrant greens, crispy potatoes with creamy insides and an indulgent Yorkshire pudding drenched in heavenly gravy.

And let’s not forget about their cocktails – they are next level! Sipping on my perfectly crafted concoction while enjoying some friendly banter around their cool pool table area just added to the already fantastic atmosphere of this place.

Sure, there were minor hiccups along the way – perhaps service could have been snappier at times and my meal arrived lukewarm instead of piping hot. But these small blemishes pale in comparison to everything else that The Spread Eagle offers.

If you’re looking for an outstanding vegan pub experience with mouthwatering food and a warm ambiance that envelops you as soon as you walk in, then do yourself a favor and head straight over to The Spread Eagle. Trust me when I say it will quickly become your new favorite haunt in London.

The Gate Islington

⭐ Our Genuine Review of The Gate Islington:

When I first walked into The Gate Islington, my taste buds went on an adventure they never wanted to end. This delightful restaurant, located at 370 St John St in London, offers a vegan twist on classic dishes that will leave you wanting more. From the moment the food touched my lips, I knew I had found something truly special.

The menu boasts an array of mouth-watering options that cater to all palates. One standout dish was the Aubergine Schnitzel – a vegan version of my mum’s cooking that brought back memories with every bite. The lemon sauce accompanying it was bursting with flavour and left me licking my plate clean. My wife opted for the katsu curry with its subtle yet satisfying taste, while I indulged in the beetroot and mascarpone mousse which offered a delightful blend of sweet and bitter.

The portion sizes were just right and reasonably priced for such top-notch quality. However, there was one slight hiccup – the wine didn’t quite live up to its £26 price tag. But hey, nobody’s perfect!

Despite some slow service during our visit (despite plenty of empty tables), The Gate Islington proved itself as a reliable option for those seeking delicious vegan cuisine. Whether you’re attending a performance at Sadlers Wells or simply looking for an exceptional meal in London, this place is definitely worth visiting! So gather your friends or family and enjoy beautifully presented dishes bursting with flavor from start to finish. Just make sure to save room for dessert – their carrot cake is absolutely divine!

The staff at Wulf & Lamb are as warm and friendly as can be. Upon entering, I was greeted by lovely girls who were eager to assist me throughout my visit. Their positive energy set the tone and made me feel right at home.

Now let’s talk about the food! Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? The offerings at Wulf & Lamb are simply divine – delicious, filling dishes that will satisfy even the most discerning palate. The Wulf Pie stole my heart with its perfectly cooked jackfruit lentil combo, bursting with delectable flavors and textures that danced on my taste buds. And don’t get me started on their roasted cauliflower; each floret was a masterpiece.

I opted for their wulf breakfast experience which turned out to be absolutely exquisite! However, what really stood out to me was their scrambled tofu – hands down the highlight of my meal. It had a velvety texture that melted in my mouth while boasting an explosion of delightful seasonings.

Mildreds Soho

⭐ A Personal Take on Mildreds Soho:

Mildreds Soho, where vegan dreams come true! Nestled on Lexington Street in Carnaby, this restaurant is a food lover’s paradise. With its vibrant atmosphere and delicious plant-based dishes, it’s no wonder that Mildreds Soho has become a hot spot for both locals and tourists alike.

As we entered the bustling eatery, our senses were immediately tantalized by the mouth-watering aromas wafting from the kitchen. The friendly staff welcomed us with open arms and guided us to our table. Now let me tell you about the wait – it was well worth every minute! Yes, there was a bit of a delay between orders being taken and dishes arriving at our table, but trust me when I say that patience pays off here.

When those starters finally made their way to our rumbling stomachs, oh my goodness… pure bliss! The sweet potato tortellini danced on our palates with its delicate flavours while the olives added an extra burst of savoury goodness. And let’s not forget about those mains – utterly divine! From the Nashville Hot Burger to the Fennel Sausages with Mash accompanied by some heavenly cabbage, each bite transported us to vegan heaven.

Dessert? Oh yes please! The dark chocolate pudding had us weak-kneed with its rich decadence while the white chocolate tiramisu took taste buds on an indulgent rollercoaster ride. Throughout our dining experience at Mildreds Soho, despite some minor hiccups in service timing due to high demand (hey… they were apologetic), we left feeling fully satisfied.

So if you’re looking for innovative vegan cuisine brimming with flavour and served up by fabulous staff members who truly care about your experience—look no further than Mildreds Soho. This gem in London should be on everyone’s culinary bucket list! Trust me when I say that this place will leave you dreaming of their mouth-watering dishes long after you’ve left.

We arrived for our booking at 1:45pm and didn’t even get our orders taken (even drinks) until well gone 2pm. Then took about over half an hour for our starters to come and then after that another hour on top for our mains to come (with one item wrong…

The Belle Vue

⭐ An Unfiltered Assessment of The Belle Vue:

The Belle Vue, a charming pub located at 1 Clapham Common South Side is an absolute gem in the heart of London. I was fortunate enough to visit this establishment twice, once for Sunday lunch and another time for drinks, and both experiences left me thoroughly impressed.

From the moment I stepped inside The Belle Vue, I was enveloped by its warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring that every aspect of my visit was delightful. What truly set this place apart was their eagerness to accommodate my furry friend – they welcomed my dog with open arms, making our experience even more enjoyable.

When it comes to food, The Belle Vue doesn’t disappoint either. Their menu offers a decent selection of delicious dishes at reasonable prices. From cauliflower bites to hash browns as starters to a mouthwatering Sunday roast (I opted for the chicken), every bite burst with rich flavors. The quality of meat in their burgers was top-notch, and their Buffalo starters were simply divine.

One minor drawback during one visit was the state of the toilet facilities; they were unfortunately infested with flies. However, this seemed like an isolated incident amidst several exceptional experiences at The Belle Vue.

Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting The Belle Vue for its lovely ambiance, superb service from friendly staff members who go above and beyond while accommodating furry friends like mine!

I’ve been there twice now, once for Sunday lunch and another time just for drinks. The place is really lovely with a great atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was lovely too! And they were very accommodating of my dog, which was really …

Nice pub, but the toilet was full of flies. I took a video because I have never seen anything like it in the UK, literally about 100 flies buzzing around and on the walls…

Plant Club – Gluten free, Vegan & Vegetarian Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria

⭐ Our Genuine Review of Plant Club – Gluten free, Vegan & Vegetarian Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria:

Plant Club – Gluten free, Vegan & Vegetarian Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria is a hidden gem in the heart of London. The moment you step foot inside, your taste buds will be transported to Italy. I was blown away by the quality and flavors of their vegan and gluten-free dishes.

From the creamy gnocchi to the indulgent garlic bread, every bite was a burst of delight. Even my non-vegan friends couldn’t resist giving them a 10/10 rating. It’s incredible to finally have a place where you can pick anything from the menu without any worry or restriction.

I must mention their gluten-free pizza; it surpassed all expectations! We tried both the Regina and Ciao Bella pizzas, and they were truly divine. The crust was perfectly crispy, and each topping was packed with flavor.

The Parmigiana dish gave me comfort like no other, while their cheese board offered an opportunity to try some new vegan cheeses accompanied by mouthwatering jams.

The only disappointment was the plain panna cotta, but even that couldn’t diminish our overall experience. And if you’re someone who can’t consume soy products like me, fret not! There are plenty of options available for you at Plant Club.

To top it off, this lovely restaurant allows BYOB (bring your own bottle), making it perfect for enjoying your favorite beers alongside these delectable dishes.

In conclusion, Plant Club – Gluten free, Vegan & Vegetarian Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria is worth every visit. Their commitment to creating delicious vegan and gluten-free fare is unrivaled in London. A truly wonderful and delicious restaurant. You would not guess it is vegan & gluten free. The gnocchi was banging, as was the indulgent garlic bread. The staff were super welcoming and helpful. It’s BYOB, but there are good bottle shops nearby….

I’m vegan and was very excited about this place and they didn’t let me down. Staff is fantastic, food is delicious and even my non-vegan friends rated them 10/10. Finally I have experienced what it feels like when you can pick anything from the menu….

The Sun of Camberwell

⭐ Our Honest Opinion of The Sun of Camberwell:

The Sun of Camberwell, oh how you shine! From the moment I stepped foot into this delightful pub on Coldharbour Lane, I knew my evening was about to become a memorable one. With 3 cask beers waiting eagerly at the handpump upon my arrival, it was clear that The Sun took its selection seriously.

And let me tell you, dear reader, the menu did not disappoint either. Classic pub fare like fish and chips and bangers and mash sat proudly alongside more enticing options for both vegetarians and vegans. It’s rare to find such thoughtfulness in a traditional establishment like this, but The Sun dares to venture beyond expectations.

As I sipped my pint under the warm glow of twinkling fairy lights in their spacious garden out back, I couldn’t help but notice the vibrant energy swirling around me. NHS staff from nearby King’s College Hospital gathered here after long shifts on Friday nights – a testament to the welcoming atmosphere within these walls.

If you’re considering paying a visit to The Sun of Camberwell (and trust me when I say you absolutely should), be sure to book a table if you plan on arriving with a group. Despite its popularity with locals and medical professionals alike, service remained surprisingly efficient even during peak hours.

In conclusion, The Sun of Camberwell radiates charm in every sense of the word. With its stellar beer selection, diverse menu options catering to all dietary preferences, and an inviting ambience that feels as comforting as home away from home – why would anyone want to miss out?

The Hogless Roast at Colour Factory

⭐ Our Honest Opinion of The Hogless Roast at Colour Factory:

I cannot contain my excitement as I write this review about The Hogless Roast at Colour Factory. Let me start by saying that this place is an absolute gem, and it has become one of my all-time favourites in London! From the moment you step foot into their premises at Queen’s Yard, you’re greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere that sets the tone for an amazing dining experience.

The highlight here is, without a doubt, their hogless meat. Bursting with incredible flavour and juiciness, it left even my non-vegan mum questioning whether it was actually pork or not – talk about plant-based wizardry! And let’s not forget the other components of their rolls; pure deliciousness in every bite. The spiced mini hash browns were perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining wonderfully moist inside. Pair them up with some mouth-watering mac and cheese or slaw, and you’ve got yourself a meal fit for royalty.

Now, I must confess that my first encounter with The Hogless Roast wasn’t at their actual venue but rather at our wedding where they provided the catering services. Believe me when I say it was love at first bite! Their pulled pork burgers had everyone fooled – even the die-hard meat-eaters couldn’t tell the difference. And don’t get me started on those heavenly hash browns; they had me crying out for more!

What truly sets apart The Hogless Roast is their passion for sustainability. Not only do they serve food that doesn’t cost the earth but also ensure minimal wastage in their operations – something we can all appreciate.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for an extraordinary culinary experience in London that caters to both vegans and non-vegans alike, then look no further than The Hogless Roast at Colour Factory. Whether you decide to visit them personally or book them for your special event like we did (trust me, you won’t regret it), prepare for a journey of mouthwatering delights that will leave you craving more. This is vegan food at its finest – addictive, flavorful, and worth every single moment.
