☝️ We deployed an army of tea-loving minions composed of our team, family, and friends to sleuth out the crème de la crème of London’s tea houses. Armed with teapots, saucers, and a boundless willingness to sip endless cups of Earl Grey tea like it was holy water on a parched tongue; we set out to discover those hidden gems that truly deserve the title “Best Tea Houses in London.” We navigated through chaotic traffic like salmon swimming upstream, braving queues longer than rap sheets at Parkhurst Prison just for a chance to sample some delicious scones and authentic brews.

Candella Tea Room

⭐ Our Honest Opinion of Candella Tea Room:

Candella Tea Room is an absolute gem tucked away in the heart of Kensington. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm and cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The girl who served us was not only incredibly kind, but also extremely knowledgeable about teas – something I definitely appreciated since I’m not exactly a tea connoisseur! She made some great suggestions for me though and the tea she recommended was spot on.

If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea experience, Candella Tea Room is perfect. We ordered their platter of sandwiches and desserts which were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The cheesecake in particular was incredibly soft and just melted in my mouth! Although it’s slightly on the pricey side, it’s well worth it for a treat or special occasion.

One thing to note – be sure to book ahead if possible as the space is quite small and popular among locals! But don’t worry if you can’t get your hands on a reservation – we actually lucked out by snagging one table last minute after someone cancelled. Overall, Candella Tea Room is truly one of my favourite places that offers an authentic afternoon tea experience showcasing fresh scones along with good selections of loose leave teas. If you haven’t visited yet, make sure to add this charming little spot to your must-see list while exploring London!

⭐ Our Unvarnished Impressions of Tea and Tattle:

Tea and Tattle, oh how delightful! From the moment we walked in, my wife and I knew that this place would be special. We had been traveling around London for a week when we stumbled upon Tea and Tattle, right next to the British Museum. What a stroke of luck it was! Add to that scones served with cream & jam plus miniature desserts – it’s every sweet-tooth’s dream come true! The hot kettle of black tea simply completed the entire picture perfectly. Tea House Theatre is a hidden gem that you simply must visit! From the moment I walked in, I was transported into a charming and cosy world of tea, cakes, and good company. The decor is delightful with mismatched chairs and tables adding to the quirky atmosphere. Whether you’re meeting a friend or just want some quiet time alone with your book, Tea House Theatre caters to all needs. Betty Blythe

⭐ Our Genuine Review of Betty Blythe:

Betty Blythe… a name that evokes images of classic elegance and sophisticated beauty – exactly what I found when I visited the Betty Blythe Afternoon Vintage Tearoom in London. From the moment we arrived, my friends and I were transported to a different era; an era where attention to detail is everything! And let me tell you, this place has got it down to an art.

Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by the staff who offered us endless cups of tea as they arranged our table with precision. We felt elegant as we tried on some vintage clothing downstairs. The opportunity to play dress-up added a unique touch of excitement for our hen-do celebration.

But let’s talk about the food… YUM! Our sandwiches were delicious and filling but left just enough room for their famously gorgeous sponge cake. Every bite melted in our mouths while washing it down with bottomless earl grey was pure bliss.

To conclude, every inch of Betty Blythe screams class and sophistication from its furnishings even down to their service. This experience brings customers back into glamourous vintage times whilst also providing comfort through indulgent food offerings (and tea!).
